Challenge Bathurst opens up

Tuesday 19 October, 2021
Challenge Bathurst is open to interested competitors.
The 2021 Challenge Bathurst is now accepting entries for the second time this year with 50 further spaces available.

Taking place over four days in November at the iconic Mount Panorama, the popular event runs as both a supersprint and regularity with each discipline held over two days.

The supersprint is the first of the two to get underway on the Thursday and Friday, with competitors spread across multiple classes and aiming to post the fastest lap around the famous circuit, while the Saturday and Sunday will see competitors look to scoring points during the friendly non-competitive regularity.

As a result of Queensland’s recent border updates, a number of Queensland competitors will now be unable to attend. However, for Victoria and New South Wales competitors, relaxed restrictions will now allow competitors from both states to take part.

These extra 50 spots will now allow those who decided not to enter the event due to uncertainty around the NSW border an opportunity to be involved.

Despite being a predominately invite only event, any individual interested in running their road or race car at Bathurst can now enter.

The second wave of entries for the 2021 event will remain open until 5 November with interested competitors able to enter here.

Event organiser Greg Evans was disappointed for the large number of interstate competitors who were looking forward to the challenge, but was hopeful new competitors would jump at the challenge.

“We appreciate how many competitors were prepared to travel with their cars from all over Australia including the 89 competitors who entered from Queensland," Evans said.

"Our friends at the Z Car Club of Queensland have participated every year with 40-80 competitors and we know they’ll be back in 2022.

"For new competitors, now’s the time to reward yourself with a road trip to Bathurst and share the excitement that only Mount Panorama can deliver.”

In keeping with the current Government health requirements, all competitors wanting to compete must be double vaccinated or be able to provide a valid exemption.

Participants must also hold a minimum Motorsport Australia Circuit Speed Licence to compete.
