State-By-State Breakdown
Victoria
Events across Victoria have now resumed, subject to their compliance with Motorsport Australia's Return To Race strategy and Victorian Government restrictions.

Motorsport status: Events must comply with the Return To Race strategy and any local restrictions.
New South Wales
Events are proceeding in NSW, in line with our Return To Race strategy. For community sporting activities that involve more than 30 participants, the organiser must have a COVID-19 Safety Plan.
The collection of patrons and staff contact information for the purpose of any potential contact tracing is recommended to be conducted via electronic means and in accordance with all relevant legislation, public health orders and regulations. Some event organisers may now be required to collect this information electronically under NSW legislation. For more information, click here.

Australian Capital Territory
From 13 November, community sporting activities and events can continue.
Organisers for events for between 201 and 500 people are required to notify ACT Health and submit their COVID Safe plan (via the online form).
Events over 500 will need an exemption in accordance with the COVID Safe Event Protocol.
Full-contact sporting competition continues to be permitted
Sporting groups can choose to open canteens, however consideration must be given to how gatherings of people will be prevented. Physical distancing requirements to be clearly marked within and around canteens.
Motorsport status: Motorsport events may be permitted by Motorsport Australia, assuming they can comply with the Return To Race strategy.
Queensland
From 6pm on 11 January, 2021, Greater Brisbane's lockdown ended, however some restrictions still apply for events.
For outdoor events taking place in Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay and Redlands areas, the following restrictions apply, based on the number of attendees:
- under 1000 people do not require government approval, but must follow a Covid-safe Event checklist & Return To Race
- between 1000 – 10,000 people require a Covid-safe Event Plan approved by local Public Health Units
- over 10,000 people require a Covid-safe Event Plan approved by the Chief Health Officer
For other areas of Queensland, events must follow state government guidelines and comply with Motorsport Australia's Return To Race document. Our permits and membership team remain on hand to assist any Queensland event organisers with any support as required.
Motorsport status: Motorsport events will be permitted in line with the Return To Race Strategy and any location specific restrictions.
South Australia
The density requirement of 1 person per 2 square metres applies for all defined public activities.
Physical distancing, or social distancing principles apply. Every person should attempt to stay at least 1.5 metres from other members of the public. However, this does not apply to people who live together, who are friends or family members, or people who regularly associate with each other.
Motorsport status: Events must comply with the Return To Race document.

Western Australia
Western Australia is currently operating under reduced restrictions.
- gathering limits only determined by WA’s reduced 2sqm rule
- Motorsport events will still be required to meet requirements set out in Return To Race
Motorsport status: Motorsport events are now being permitted by Motorsport Australia, assuming they can comply with the above and the Return To Race strategy.
Tasmania
Gatherings are limited to 1,000 people (including athletes and support staff) in the outdoors of a premises for community sport and 250 for an undivided space in an indoor premises, or a maximum of one person per 2 square metres under the density limit, whichever is less.
Motorsport status: Motorsport events can now resume, in line with Tasmania's restrictions and the Motorsport Australia Return To Race strategy.

Spectator Information
The current advice is that spectators and non-critical team personnel must not attend any Motorsport Australia activity under these temporary COVID-19 protocols.
Personnel in attendance are reminded of their obligations to ensure correct social distancing and general hygiene practices are followed. These may vary depending on the guidelines in your state or territory.
