The Motorsport Australia Victorian Hillclimb Championship makes its way to Bryant Park this weekend for the fourth round of what is shaping up as a hugely competitive season.

The event, organised by the Phillip Island Auto Racing Club (PIARC) will return to the popular hill climb for the second time this year, having been there for the season opener in February.

A whopping 80 entrants will take to the track at Bryant Park to compete for the fastest times through their six available runs – giving spectators plenty of opportunity to witness the exciting array of cars on show.

Current championship leader Greg Ackland will be looking to continue his good run of form after taking victory at the venue earlier in the year with the fastest time of 45.46 seconds.

Although, he will have to deal with the likes of David Mahon, who is making the trip over from South Australia looking to spoil the party.

Other drivers to keep an eye out for include Peter Minihan and Wim Janssen, who finished third and fourth in the previous visit respectively.

This track itself is referred to as the ‘paperclip’ - a layout that was introduced three years ago and has since become a popular attraction to all competitors.

Victorian Hillclimb Chair, Chris Harwood is looking forward to returning to Bryant Park for the second time this season.

“It is very exciting to return to a location that the drivers enjoy so much, it is shaping up to be a great day of racing and I am looking forward to seeing what challenges the track offers up,” Harwood said.

“It is a great atmosphere and a perfect place for spectators to come along and get involved with Hillclimb racing, they will also have the opportunity to talk to drivers and officials along the way, it's going to be a great day.”

The fourth round of the Motorsport Australia Victorian Hillclimb Championship will take place at Bryant Park on 23 April.
