From Motorsport Australia CEO Eugene Arocca:

As the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour drew to a close last night, there were plenty of accolades and celebrations from a race that delivered record crowds, a record number of laps and some impressive work from drivers and crews throughout the paddock.

While most of that record crowd were there to enjoy the world class racing, for me personally the highlight was witnessing and hearing about the tireless work of our Motorsport Australia officials who put in such long hours across the weekend to deliver this event Australia can be proud of.

Whether it’s those working hard on a flag point, the pit lane officials keeping everyone safe, the fire and rescue crews or the scrutineers making sure the event is conducted in a fair and safe manner – the efforts of every official on the Mountain is worthy of our significant praise.

The lofty standards that the Bathurst 12 Hour sets and the reputation it has on the global stage is certainly in part thanks to the efficiency and professionalism of those officials making sure the event runs so smoothly and that no obstacle is too big to overcome to make sure the racing is fair and the integrity of the event lives up to its world-class standards.

Of course, we are also well aware there was plenty of other motorsport taking place around the country and a large number of officials on duty. We thank all 10,000 licenced officials who make this sport what it is.

As we move through 2023, we’ll be focusing on recruiting even more officials to our ranks and making sure we appropriately and regularly acknowledge that hard work whenever possible.

So again, to everyone who made motorsport possible across the weekend, thank you for your commitment and dedication.
