The dates for the 2021 Motorsport Australia State Award ceremonies have been announced.

Every year, the Motorsport Australia State Awards celebrate the achievements of both the championship winning drivers/co-drivers and the individuals who are the driving force of grassroots motorsport, with awards like Service Star and the State Official of the Year recognising their efforts.

In 2022, all state awards will be held virtually in the opening months of the year.

The decision to make the ceremonies a virtual affair comes after another difficult year for the country and due to the uncertainty of ongoing restrictions, which may impact gathering limits or force last minute cancellations.

Each state’s virtual awards ceremony will be available to watch via motorsport.org.au, so people can tune into the awards from the comfort of their own home from anywhere in the world and pay tribute to those who go above and beyond.

As the ceremonies are now online, they will be free to attend with all award winners to have the opportunity to speak and recognise those close to them who played a role in their journey.

Taking place over three weeks in February, the ceremonies will be held each Wednesday and Thursday, with Tasmania the first on Wednesday 9 February and New South Wales the last on Thursday 24 February. South Australia/Northern Territory’s ceremony date is still to be confirmed, with updates provided on the Motorsport Australia website once this event is finalised.
