Supercars postpone Gen3 program

Wednesday 13 October, 2021
Supercars' Gen3 program has been pushed to 2023.
The Repco Supercars Championship’s Gen3 program has been delayed until the start of the 2023 season.

With ongoing challenges surrounding international supply chains due to COVID-19 disruptions, Supercars has been limited in its Gen3 testing program.

The decision to postpone the introduction of the program was made after Supercars consulted key stakeholders including Repco, Ford, General Motors and Supercars’ broadcast partners – with all parties remaining committed to continuing with the rollout in 2023.

While Triple Eight Race Engineering and Dick Johnson Racing continue to develop the prototypes as the manufacturers’ respective homologation teams, it has been revealed the fans will get a first glimpse of them on track during this year’s Repco Bathurst 1000.

In 2022, the cars will then feature in on-track exhibitions and testing throughout multiple Supercars’ events, while Mark Larkham will continue showcasing the cars during Supercars broadcasts through behind-the-scenes updates.
