Indigenous youth motorsport program Racing Together will get an opportunity to present itself on the national stage this weekend when it features in the Repco Supercars Championship's Merlin Darwin Triple Crown.

It is the first time since the program’s formation in 2020 that participants from the program will venture outside of Queensland as team driver Braedyn Cidoni, alongside mechanics Ayesha Burke and Locklan McHardy, will field Racing Together’s Hyundai Excel in the three Combined Sedans races.

With Supercars using the event to celebrate Indigenous Round at Hidden Valley, the teenagers will also participate in several activities celebrating Indigenous culture.

In celebration of the new partnership and the program, the Shell V-Power Racing Team, which is one of Viva Energy’s current partners, will have both its Ford Mustangs don a Racing Together and Indigenous-themed livery for the round.

This weekend will be the team's third competitive race meeting and program founder, Garry Connelly AM was excited for the opportunity to showcase Racing Together to the country outside the Motorsport Australia Queensland Circuit Championship.

“The Supercars Indigenous Round is an exciting way to kick-start the partnership with Viva Energy,” Connelly said.

“It will give many Territorians a first-hand look at what we’re doing and, through media coverage of the weekend, showcase it to Australian motorsport enthusiasts everywhere.”

The Merlin Darwin Triple Crown takes place at Hidden Valley Raceway on 18-20 June.
