Bathurst 6 hour on track for entry record

Thursday 13 February, 2020
It's going to be a big weekend at the 2020 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour.
Entries for this year’s highly anticipated Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour has almost reached capacity with more than 60 cars already confirmed for the Production Car endurance race.

With only a handful of positions remaining until the maximum grid is reached, the year’s second major event at the iconic Mount Panorama circuit is on track to break the record for the largest ever enduro grid.

Headlining the huge field will be last year’s Bathurst 6-Hour winners Beric Lynton and Tim Leahey in their BMW M3 and 2019 series champion Iain Sherrin, while a number of manufacturers will make their Production Car debuts on the famous circuit, including the Ford Mustang.

While there will be tough competition across all classes in the six-hour race, the 25 cars spread within the X, A1 and A2 classes will offer an entertaining battle for outright honours.

Adding to the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships’ second round is the six-hour race’s strong support program, with the carsales TCR Australia Series, Radical Australia Cup, MRF Tyres Excel Challenge and Historic Touring Cars to feature across the weekend.

Also forming part of the impressive support card will be the Motorsport Australia GT Championship as the category hosts its first sprint round of the year.

The joint Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour and Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships round will be held on 10-12 April in Bathurst.
